Excitement Builds As Deer Creek Golf Club In Littleton Gets Ready To Open

Deer Creek Golf Club at Meadow Ranch, Denver's newest golf course, has completed construction and grow-in, and is scheduled to open in the spring of 2000. The 7,131-yard championship course has been designed by renowned course architect Scott Miller in a "links" style layout. The golf club is an integral part of Meadow Ranch, a 383-unit neighborhood adjacent to Ken Caryl Business Center, all of which is encompassed in a Littleton, CO, master planned community being managed by Carruth Properties Company.

"We are excited to bring an outstanding golf experience with 40 acres of protected wetlands and magnificent views of the Dakota Hogback to golfers and nature enthusiasts of southwest Denver," says Dennis Carruth, president of Carruth Properties.

The 160-acre course will be open to daily fee golfers, with a limited number of exclusive private memberships that are now available for sale. There are five membership levels - Individual, Family, Business, Corporate and Corporate Plus - starting at $190/month plus an initiation deposit. Member benefits include green fees, advanced tee time privileges, reciprocal benefits at 100 American Golf Corporation public and resort courses, and special discounts at Arrowhead Golf Club, among others. Meadow Ranch Homeowners and Ken Caryl Business Center Property Owners receive additional resident benefits.

Leading golf operator American Golf Corporation has been awarded a long-term lease to operate the new Deer Creek Golf Club at Meadow Ranch. "We are very excited about debuting this exciting new property which will offer Denver-area golfers a unique, picturesque and enjoyable golf experience at a great value," says American Golf Vice President Steve Harker. "In addition to offering impeccably maintained facilities and unsurpassed guest service, American Golf looks forward to supporting the local community through a variety of player development and charitable programs.''

Golf course architect Scott Miller has created a "links" style layout - featuring out-of-play areas which have been maintained in their natural state - set against the stunning rugged mountain terrain of the Dakota Hogback. While the course promises to test the shot-making skills of the most accomplished players, multiple tees on each hole will provide players of all skill levels with an enjoyable challenge. World-class amenities will include a ranch-style clubhouse featuring a full-service golf shop, restaurant and bar, and men's and women's locker rooms, and a golf learning center with a driving range and putting green.

Miller, whose firm has created more than 30 courses in the U.S., South America and Asia, is known for his design of the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course (home of the famous "floating green"), The Golf Club at Eagle Mountain (voted "Best New Public Course in Arizona " by the Arizona Republic), and The Miller Course at The Bentwater Yacht and Country Club (voted "Best New Course in Texas" by the Dallas Morning News and Texas Golf).

As a former member of the Jack Nicklaus design team, Miller was involved in renovations at Augusta National, as well as the design of Castle Pines, Sherwood, Desert Pines, Desert Highlands and Valhalla.

As part of a commitment to the land, the golf course developers and owners have incorporated environmental considerations into the design of the course. More than 40 acres of wetlands have been protected. As much as possible the course is designed around existing elements. Natural growth trees were preserved. The use of native grasses and the protection and mitigation of wetlands helps to reduce water use by minimizing irrigation needs in non-play areas.

The owner of the golf course is Stacey Hart, a PGA member and renowned owner/operator of several Denver area golf courses. Deer Creek Golf Club at Meadow Ranch is located at 8135 Shaffer Parkway in Littleton, Colorado. For more information, please call (303) 978-1800.
