The 2002 Denver Golf Expo Faculty of Instructors

The Denver Golf Expo is please to present the 2002 Seminar facility. The instructors below represent some of the best and most knowledgeable professionals we have in the Rocky Mountain region. We hope you take the time to sit in on a few of these seminars, which are free of charge for attendees visiting the Golf Expo February 7-9. Please see the seminar schedule on page 7 for time and date of the seminars.

 

Berith Jacobsen

CEO, TEAM 2000

Jacobsen is CEO of Team 2000, a golf products design and manufacturing company and founder of the Denver chapter of the Executive Women's Golf Association (EWGA). She also founded and chairs the "Golf Ball" and was recently named to the board of the First Tee program in Denver. A native of Onamia, Minnesota, Jacobsen has built a successful Denver business designing and manufacturing custom sports luggage, imprinted sportswear and promotional products for the golf, college and corporate markets.

 

Carolyn McGee

Physical Therapist,

Body Balance for Performance

Carolyn has been a golfer for over 40 years and a PT for 12 years. It was a perfect match for this individual who loves the game of golf and enjoys helping other people with health and physical issues. She has called the front range home for the past 10 years. Her love of the Rocky Mountains is only surpassed by her love of golf. Carolyn comes to us from the Body Balance corporate office in Burbank, CA. after

she learned as much as Paul Callaway, founder of Body Balance, had to teach about physical fitness and golf performance.

 

Janet Moore

Member, Colorado Golf Hall of Fame

At age 36, Moore became the 18th woman to join the state's Golf Hall of Fame. She dominated the Colorado Women's Golf Association Stroke Play Championship during the 1990s, winning the event five times in the course of seven years. And from 1994 through 1997, Moore was the lone stroke play champion, claiming four straight titles, a record that hasn't been matched in the 53-year history of the tournament. Being a Denver native, Janet accomplished a dozen club championships to her credit--seven at Cherry Hills Country Club and five at Lakewood Country Club. In 1998, she was presented with the golf award given out by the Sportswomen of Colorado, marking the second time she has received that honor.

 

Jeremy Moreno

Teaching Professional, Bogart -Flatirons

A native of Colorado, Jeremy grew up an avid golfer earning a scholarship to play at Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado. Jeremy graduated with a degree in Marketing and soon found his true passion in teaching. He began and completed his Masters degree in Education with an emphasis in learning styles and it is then that he began to give private golf lessons to students of all ages and abilities. In 1998, Jeremy became a member of the United States Golf Teachers Federation, earning his Teaching Professional credentials. Jeremy then moved to Dallas and began teaching full time at a private learning center and later started working with Bogart Golf as a Teaching Professional in the Dallas area. As a co-founder of Bogart Golf Colorado Jeremy now is enabled to combine his passions for business, teaching and golf to create better golfers for a lifetime. Jeremy and partner Shane Pember are currently the lead Teaching Professionals at the Flatirons facility.

 

Ben Norris

Assistant Teaching Professional,

Bogart-Park Meadows

Ben comes to Colorado from a golfing family on the East Coast. He began his golfing career by enrolling in the Professional Golf Management program at Penn State University. While at PSU he gained experience at well-known facilities such as Valhalla and Meridian Hills before coming to Colorado to teach at the Sanctuary. Ben recently passed his Players Ability Test and is currently working toward his PGA Class A certification. He is a valuable addition to the Bogart staff due to his lifelong involvement in the game, knowledge of the swing and high standard of customer service. Colorado is a perfect fit for him since he can indulge his passions for fishing and hunting as well!

 

Jeff Nova

Head Golf Professional, Bogart-Park Meadows

Jeff began his professional career in 1986, and spent the next five years playing various mini-tour events in and around the western half of the United States. He accepted his first club position in 1991 and quickly became involved in the teaching side of the golf business earning his PGA Class A status. During the last 11 years Jeff has worked as a teaching professional at two clubs in the Los Angeles area, and as the teaching professional at The Denver Country Club. Making the move to Bogart Golf has allowed Jeff to give what he believes to be the best golf lesson available today in the industry. In April 2002 Jeff joined forces with fellow Bogart Professionals to buy the Denver facilities. Jeff is currently the Head Professional at the Bogart Golf facility in Park Meadows and Director of Instruction for the company.

 

Brad Ott

MSPT, Cert MDT,

Body Balance for Performance

Brad is a physical therapist with 10 years practice experience in orthopedics and sports therapy. He is the owner of Loveland Rebound Sports and Physical Therapy (Loveland) and Performance Physical Therapy (Fort Collins). In 1999, with partner Paul McQuade, they opened the first of three Body Balance for Performance centers along the Front Range. Brad carries a 2.4 handicap and is passionate about the customized golf-specific fitness and conditioning services he provides exclusively to golfers. The success of the Body Balance program has fueled the growth of over 60 centers nationwide and was founded by Paul Callaway, the first Director of Physical Therapy on the PGA tour.

 

Shane Pember

Teaching Professional, Bogart -Flatirons

Shane has been in Colorado since moving here from Texas in 1987. He graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1990 with a degree in marketing. As one of Bogart Golf's co-founders he is now enjoying the opportunity to combine his business expertise with his passion for the game of golf. An avid golfer for over 20 years, Shane decided to become a professional in 1999. He gained experience at PRO Golf Schools before passing his Players Ability Test and becoming a PGA Apprentice. Currently he is working toward his PGA Class A certification while giving lessons full-time at Bogart's Flatirons Crossing facility. Shane is convinced that Bogart Golf's combination of expert instruction and supervised training is the best way for anyone to improve their game.

 

Dan Sueltz

CEO, D'Lance Golf

Dan is the founder and CEO of D'Lance Golf. After a career in sales and marketing in the software and computer systems development, Dan started D'Lance Golf, a 24 hour golf game improvement center in Littleton, CO. Dan has a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA in Finance from NYU and is a certified clubmaker and member of PCS and GCA.

 

Rick Timm

Head Golf Professional,

Bogart-Downtown 16th St. Mall

Rick Timm has been working in the golf business and teaching the game for over 21 years. He graduated in 1985 from Ferris State in Big Rapids Michigan with a dual degree in Marketing and Professional Golf Management. Rick received his PGA class A membership in 1986 from the Metropolitan Section while working at the Connecticut Golf Club. In 1986 he also developed and successfully marketed a golf training aid called The Swing Bar and has sold over 100,000 units. He has spent the majority of his career in the North Florida Section and received awards in both Junior Golf, Rules of Golf and was elected as Junior Golf Chairman for the North Florida East Central Chapter and served for five years. His playing career includes many years on the various mini-tours in Florida, participation in numerous Long-Drive competitions and he has also taken his team to the Oldsmobile Scramble Finals. Rick relocated to Denver three years ago and before teaching at Bogart Golf he was a teaching professional at Englewood GC. Over Rick's 21 years of teaching the game of golf, he has worked with players of all abilities including many top level playing amateurs as well as juniors and now believes, "There is not a person's golf game that I can't improve through Bogart's unique training method!" In April 2002 Rick joined forces with fellow Bogart Professionals to buy the Denver facilities. Rick is currently the Head Professional at the Bogart Golf facility Downtown on the 16th Street Mall.

 

Mark Westover

Assistant Teaching Professional,

Bogart-Downtown 16th St. Mall

A Colorado native, Mark Westover has been a golf professional for nearly a decade. His professional career began in the Vail Valley at Country Club of the Rockies. He took and passed his PAT and entered into the GPTP program. After three years of teaching and playing he landed as a Director of Instruction for a Top 25 Golf School based out of Denver Colorado. Mark traveled and shared his passion for the game as lead instructor in places like: Scottsdale Arizona, San Diego California, Las Vegas Nevada, Orlando Florida, and New York State. In 2001 Mark became a Certified Master Instructor working for Resort Golf (Top 25) under Scott Sackett at Legend Trail's Golf Resort in Scottsdale Arizona. Along the way Mark has also become Certified Master Club Fitter for Dimension Z Golf, Titleist, Ping, and Tour Edge. Recently Mark has completed his training as a Certified Master Club Technician which rounds out his knowledge of how equipment and teaching have a balance in every golfers game. Currently Mark is a Personal Pro for Bogart Golf. Mark feels that teaching using Bogart's state of the art teaching and video technology along with personal club fitting system will further his abilities as a teacher, club fitter and golf professional. Mark is also an active father who enjoys the outdoors and has a passion for photography.
