Beverage
Server of the
Month
In
each issue GOLFViews will
interview some of the people who
make those long rounds in the sun
more bearable, the Beverage Cart
Driver. We see them every time we
play so we thought it would be
fun to get a glimpse at the game
from their perspective. If you
know someone you think would like
to be featured in this section
please call 303-797-8700.

Course: The Golf Club at Redlands
Mesa
1.
How long have you been driving
the beverage cart?
About a month and a
half.
2.
What attracted you to this job
and how did you get it?
I didn't have much luck
finding a position in my field
after earning my Bachelors of Art
degree so I decided to try the
golf course. My friend is manager
of the Red Canyon Grille and
hired me on the spot. I have
enjoyed working here since.
3.
Do you play golf. If so, how
would you describe your game, and
what is your handicap?
I have just started playing
golf and it has already consumed
me. I am determined to master the
game.
4.
Why do you like the game of
golf?
Golf is healthy for your
body, mind, and spirit. There is
nothing more satisfying than
being outdoors with your friends
building relationships and
improving your mental focus and
athleticism.
5.
What is your favorite aspect of
the game?
My favorite aspect of the
game is quite simply being
outdoors at Redlands Mesa. This
is one of the most beautiful
places in the world.
6.
Please share a memorable, funny
or interesting experience you've
had on the job.
My first day on the job I was
driving over the 3rd hold, when
out of no where I saw this bob
cat come flying over the green
with breakfast in its mouth! We
have a lot of wild life in this
area including a lots of rabbits
and family of bob cats.
7.
What is the most used phase,
saying or line you hear on the
course?
"Where have you been?" And
"We are so glad to see you!" are
my two most popular
phrases.
8.
If you could give one piece of
advice to a new comer in your
profession, what would it be?
Learn the course back and
front because you will be asked
questions. Be sincere about
keeping the guys hydrated and
happy, and be serious about
etiquette. You will make life
long friends if you can be
friendly and follow these simple
steps.
