The Meadows Golf Course

Age: 20

How long have you been a Cart Girl? 3 years

What attracted you to the job?
It sounded like the ideal job…get paid to drive a cart around, get a tan, and watch some golf. (Not to mention everyone is always happy to see you since you have ice cold beer!)

Do you play and if so, how would you describe your game?
I attempt to play at least a few times a season. As far as my game...let’s just say I shouldn’t quit my day job as cart girl.

What do you like about the game of golf? It is extremely challenging and who isn’t up for a little challenge? The game of golf presents the opportunity to meet some new people, get exercise, test your patience, and take some frustration out on a golf ball. Not to mention, living in Colorado, golf is a perfect leisurely sport to enjoy the outdoors.

What would you change about the game of golf? Take away some of the intense seriousness…you’re out there to have fun!

Share a memorable experience you had driving the cart?
My cart was parked out of the way waiting for a group to tee off. One golfer hit his ball, and the next thing I knew, it hit and killed a bird that was sitting on the fence right next to me!

What is the most used phrase or comment you hear on the course? “We are so happy to see you.” “Give me the coldest one you got!”

What are 3 "don'ts" golfers should know about when interacting with their cart girl?
If you have a daughter or granddaughter around my age, keep her in mind and don’t cross the boundaries. My cart isn’t the green… so please don’t aim for me… shoot for the flag instead! If you aren’t going to get anything, there are many other golfers who are thirsty; please don’t make me wait, instead simply wave me on!

What are 3 "do's" golfers should know about when interacting with their cart girl?
Tip…(I have college to pay for!). Do understand that I make my rounds as quick as possible, there is a lot to cover but I didn’t forget about you! Be nice…it makes everything so much better!
