Eagle-Vail Golf Course ...
Golf with Altitude

Nestled between Vail and Beaver Creek Resorts, in the heart of the Vail Valley, lies the Eagle-Vail Golf Club. Bordered by the Eagle River to the north and the White River National Forest on the south, the championship 18 hole golf course winds through the Eagle-Vail residential community. With elevated tees, an abundance of water and a natural setting that makes it a truly unique golfing experience, Eagle-Vail is a challenging mountain course. The Eagle-Vail Golf Club offers an 18 hole championship golf course, designed by Devlin/Von Hagge Architects, an improved driving range, a new practice putting area, a Par 3 golf course, a full-service restaurant and a first-rate golf shop.

Eagle-Vail is 25 years old, the second-oldest course in the Vail Valley, and is currently in the process of master plan improvements that will maintain Eagle-Vail's position as a first-rate golfing experience in a mountain resort community. The first aspect of the course that people see upon arrival is the practice facility. The practice facility began a facelift in the Spring of 1999, with work continuing in the Spring of 2000 and completion slated for mid-Summer 2000. New additions and improvements include 11,000 square feet of practice putting greens, re-designed tee stations and a 2,700 square foot practice sand trap and 5,000 square foot chipping green. These improvements are just a part of our master plan improvements and are intended to create a first rate practice facility.

The second major improvement to hit the Eagle-Vail course in 2000 is the addition of new head golf professional Mark Kizzire. Mark comes to Eagle-Vail with an extensive golf background and the experience Eagle-Vail needs to retain its position as a top-notch golf facility.

Kizzire has been in the golf business for 20 years, his most recent course being the Ridge at Castle Pines outside of Denver. Having worked all over the golf world, Troon North in Arizona, La Canterra in San Antonio, and Turnberry in Scotland, Kizzire's exposure is first-rate and meant to rub-off on a public course which is admired and respected by locals and visitors alike. Joining Kizire is PGA Teaching Professional Buster Reed from Pont Vedra Beach, Florida, LPGA Teaching Professional Paula Adelman from Raleigh, North Carolina, and apprentice Paul Longfellow from Eagle-Vail.

The Eagle-Vail golf experience begins with a bang right off the first tee. Approximately 150 feet in elevation from the fairway, the first tee sets the golfer up for what is in store over the next 18 holes. Four of the next six holes are along the Eagle River, a beautiful setting to play along but more challenging than not. If your ball lands in the river don't plan on fishing it out easily - if at all. Holes one, ten and eighteen are Eagle-Vail's signature holes and between each of these beauty, challenge, frustration and fun can be found in the natural setting so common to mountain courses.

The Willow Creek Par 3 golf course is a walking, nine hole course in a picturesque mountain setting. The nine hole course is perfect for beginners to practice and improve their skills, as well as challenging for intermediates and experts to work on their short game. Ideal for practice, families, beginners and those who just want to enjoy a relaxing, walking round of golf, the Par 3 is also available for tournaments and group play.

The Golf Shop is located in the Clubhouse with an offshoot in the Willow Creek Par 3 Clubhouse. Eagle-Vail is proud of its full-service golf shop, offering everything from clubs and balls to shoes and shirts. The Golf Shop also has rental clubs and can arrange for a wide variety of items for prizes as well as for company logos to be utilized on merchandise for group and tournament play.

Eagle-Vail is proud to offer exceptional food and beverage service throughout the course and in the restaurant, Mulligans at Eagle-Vail, located in the Clubhouse. Whether you need to arrange to have breakfast provided for your group, box lunches or a banquet for an awards ceremony, the staff at Mulligans can work with you.

All of the Eagle Vail Golf facilities welcome groups of all sizes and look forward to accommodating all group and tournament play needs.
