Pelican Lakes Golf and Country Club Sets the Standard for Golf Courses in Northern Colorado

Free Club Initiaion Fee for New Home Buyers Through March 31st, 2007.

Pelican Lakes Golf and Country Club is located in the heart of beautiful Water Valley in Windsor, Northern Colorado’s only 27 hole golf course resort community. Pelican Lakes promises a splashing good time and a formidable challenge, in a scenic environment that is certain to inspire even the most discriminating golfer.

Pelican Lakes Golf and Country Club is surrounded by five lakes, and encompasses more shoreline than any other golf course in the country. While the original 18 hole course opened in 1999 and was at the time Windsor’s only golf course, Water Valley introduced a new 9 hole course, named Pelican Falls, in July of last year. The two courses provide a unique golfing experience from expansive lakes adjacent to almost every hole in The Lakes to breathtaking elevated tee boxes high atop the Poudre Valley bluffs in The Falls course. The Falls #9 green also demands that a golfer’s attention stays centered as the finishing hole showcases an island green - accessible only by a footbridge.

Ted Robinson Sr., world renowned golf course designer, created Pelican Lakes around the picturesque Cache la Poudre River. The 18 championship holes take golfers across the river four times as they maneuver through this stimulating and challenging course. Pelican Lakes Golf Course features a stadium style design for spectators’ tournament viewing and more than 300 surface acres of water surrounding the links. There are no residential lots adjacent to this course, just 7,214 yards of championship holes with elevated tees and greens, lakes, hundreds of mature trees, and abundant varieties of Colorado wildlife.

The Pelican Falls course features one of the largest man made series of water falls and streams in the Colorado front range area. Beginning with a tranquil hilltop pool near the #7 tee box, and with a rustic wood and metal footbridge, the water then cascades down a network of boulder lined streams and outcroppings for over a 200 foot elevation drop along the fairways and spills into a reflection pond between the #5 green and #6 tee boxes. The Falls course was named after these unique water features and on certain spring days, flocks of white American pelicans can be see slowly gliding on the air currents high over head.

The club house complex contains a full service pro shop and Water Valley is proud to have Bob McNamee, PGA Golf Professional, as its Director of Golf. With an architectural design inspired by western pioneers, club amenities also include a junior Olympic swimming pool, fitness center, sun deck, beach volley ball court, beach access, a private island, fishing, boating, a banquet room complex, private party facilities, and a restaurant and lounge - Austin’s Homestead at Pelican Lakes. A variety of club membership packages and daily golf play opportunities are available.
