Power Golf

Why all of the sudden interest in "training" for golf? Two words - Tiger and Duval. As you know, Tiger Woods and David Duval are the two hottest names in golf today. And many have attributed much of their recent success to a complete transformation in how they prepare their minds and bodies for peak performance.

For example, both partake in a rigorous program of cardiovascular training, resistance training (weight lifting), in corporation with strict nutrition and supplementation programs. You can learn more about new supplement programs at www.neuroswing.com.

Because these topics can often be confusing to the average golfer, each month I'll be writing a brief "training tip" that will help you add power, distance, and accuracy to your golf game. So let's get to it!

Training Tip #1: Cardiovascular training. How is this type of training going to help your golf game? Well, have you ever "hit the wall" soon after turning the corner? Maybe you notice that you lose energy, focus, and concentration, fast? If so, a little cardiovascular training will go a long way in improving your later round scores. (i.e. fewer three putts and double-bogies) Not to mention, it can also help you lose weight, decrease stress, and boost overall health!

Here's what to do: First thing in the morning, just three times a week, pull yourself out-of-bed 30 minutes early (c'mon!) and partake in some type of cardiovascular exercise that you enjoy. This can be biking, hiking, swimming, jogging, walking, or you can even use some fancy machine at a local health club. It doesn't really matter. Just make sure to push yourself for a solid 20 minutes to start. Then work your way up to 30 minutes after two weeks.

Important: Make sure to perform this exercise on an empty stomach. (Unless your doctor suggests otherwise.) At this time, your body will more efficiently dip into stored body fat than it would at later times during the day after eating.
