The Golf Club at Bear Dance opens new 15,000 square foot clubhouse.

Now opening for a second season, The Golf Club at Bear Dance has undergone significant changes during the winter that will provide premier services and accommodations for all players and visitors to the scenic property located in Larkspur.

Of the most notable of the improvements is the opening of the new 15,000 square foot clubhouse. The refined interior is reminiscent of a traditional English manor with deep rich colors and wood paneling. Newly voted as the "Best of Best" golf shop by the Douglas County Community Newspapers, offered are the finest gentleman's and ladies apparel, the hottest new golf equipment and a selection of the finest gifts and accessories you will be hard pressed to find elsewhere.

You will find every creature comfort of home in this state-of-the-art building with professional service typically offered only by private facilities. A full service restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a cozy tavern will pour the finest spirits and wine.

Course improvements were made in the Fall of 2002. Hole number three, a par-4, saw the right side of the large green raised slightly to offer more opportune pin placements. The par-5, fifth hole, was lengthened 65 yards by moving the green toward the south and adding green side bunkers. The par-4, ninth green was mellowed on the front and right sides to offer more favorable hole positions for players of all levels.

In keeping with the latest in technology, Bear Dance, a riding only facility, now offers a GPS system in every golf car to ensure players have the correct distance to the hole, regardless of your lie.

The Golf Club at Bear Dance also welcomed their new residents, the 750 members and apprentices of the Colorado Section of the PGA of America. The administrative offices of the membership and foundation moved into the 2,700 square foot second floor of the clubhouse in April. Adding to the traditional ambience of the clubhouse, a Historical Center dedicated to the history of professional golf in Colorado has been completed. Visitors to the clubhouse are welcome to share in the fascinating highlights of decades past and present.

For the ideal golf odyssey just follow the bear tracks to The Golf Club at Bear Dance. Opened in April of 2002, this jewel of Colorado is cut from the same vein as Castle Pines. It meanders through dense stands of ponderosa pines that lead to scenic meadows providing breathtaking panoramic views of Pike's Peak, Larkspur Butte and Raspberry Butte. Even though Bear Dance measures longer than any PGA TOUR course at 7,726 yards, it offers multiple tee options to accommodate all levels of play. The professional staff welcomes the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment in providing you and your guests with the complete "Bear Dance" experience.

Following its first season in 2002, the Golf Club at Bear Dance has been nominated in Golf Digest's Best New Public Courses in America, received honorable mention in Golf Magazine's Top 10 new public courses you can play, and locally, won Colorado Avid Golfer Magazine's readers choice award for "best new course" and "best course for $50-$99".
