Dear Readers,

I realize the sudden name change has come as a surprise to all of you. From the successful launch of this publication 9 years ago thru the growth and development of one of the most circulated, respected golf publications in the state today, the Metropolitan Tee Times name has certainly served us well. Even though we'll continue using it in different capacities within the pages of GOLFViews, it has been difficult pulling the name from the cover.

So then why even change the name? Before I get into any details, let me begin by saying that the name is the only thing that has changed. Everything else is absolutely the same. Same ownership. Same staff. Same office. Same everything right down to the pictures of my two little girls in the staff box. Additionally, it needs to be said that there are absolutely no litigations involved with the name change. We own the name Metropolitan Tee Times and have the right to continue using it for as long as we wish in the state of Colorado.

So back to why the name change? It's really quite simple. We out grew it. When we started 9 years ago our focus was the front range and more specifically the Denver Metropolitan Area. Not long after our first issues hit the streets, readers and advertisers requested a wider distribution. Our continued growth and popularity has surpassed our most optimistic projections. Because of the significant demand and growth we have enjoyed throughout Colorado, Metropolitan Tee Times has progressed from a Denver Metro Golf Publication to one of the most circulated and respected golf publications in the entire state. And now that our readership and advertising clients have expanded beyond the state borders, we felt that a new name that better represents our publication was in order.

So then why GOLFViews? Coming up with the the name itself was a difficult process and I feel compelled to explain this process to some degree. For obvious reasons we wanted a name that contained the word GOLF. This would be the quickest and easiest way to describe our publication. And because of a possible expansion plan into other markets, we required that the new name could be registered and protected on a national level as well as work in any golf market. You would all be amazed at how many names containing the word GOLF are protected. As if this process was not limiting our choices enough, we also felt it imperative to be able to register the exact same name for our website. This process significantly limited our choices, or so we thought. We were very surprised to see that one of our very first choices filtered right through the system, and when we confirmed that the name could be ours, we jumped on it. GolfViews was in fact one of our original choices. We liked it's simplistic elegance as well as the fact that the different definitions for the word views maintain relevance in describing our golf publication.

So there it is. Metropolitan Tee Times is now GolfViews.

We hope you continue reading and enjoying our golf publication and are confident that you will understand and support this change. After all, without change there is no growth.
